Adding a Collection
Collections or albums are simply groups of downloadable products (or files) that can be purchased as a group. ALL COLLECTIONS MUST HAVE AN ARTIST ASSOCIATED WITH THEM.
To add a collection:
1. Click "Add a Collection"
2. Enter the title for the collection.
3. Enter a price. This is the price for the entire collection which would include all files you will add to it. The collection price must be $3.99 or higher.
4. Select a media type. If you choose music, a button will appear to check to see if your collection is to be considered Chrisitan or not. If Christian is chosen, you will be prompted to categorize your collection from the drop down list by starting with the MAIN CATEGORY then SUB CATEGORY, then THEME. Please note that all Christian music MUST have a MAIN CATEGORY but may not necessarily have SUB CATEGORIES or THEMES.
5. Enter your UPC number. If you do not have a UPC number, ZIPBOX Media can issue one for you. UPC numbers are needed if you want your music sales to be recognized by Soundscan™. Soundscan™ sales numbers then get reported to Billboard Magazine™ and help categorize what chart your collection will appear on.
6. Enter a release date, then click "ADD" to create your collection.
Grouping
The only way to offer any product is in a collection. You can have hundreds of products or one product in a collection. Your customers may pick individual products from a collection to purchase and download, or choose to download the whole collection in a single click.
Single Product Pricing
The lowest allowable price on ZIPBOX Media for a single product is .68¢.
Collection Pricing
A collection cannot be any lower than $3.99 or .25¢ times the number of products in the collection, whichever is higher. So, for example, if you had a collection with 10 items the lowest price for that collection would be $3.99 because 10 X .25¢ is $2.50 which is lower than $3.99.
If you had a collection with 16 items the minimum price for that collection would be $4.00 because 16 X .25¢ is $4.00 which is higher that $3.99. The same would be true for a collection with 25 items because 25 X .25¢ is $6.25 which is higher than$3.99. The collection with 25 items would have a minimum price of $6.25.
