Adding downloaded audio or video files to Windows Media Player

When you click one of your download files to initiate the download (see first image below) a save dialog window appears. Take note of where you are saving your file as this is where you will need to navigate to find your file after it downloads. On a PC the "Desktop" folder is chosen by default. You can choose to save it anywhere you like. (see save from your browser below).

From your desktop open a new window and select the folder to which you saved your file. The third image below illustrates a file found in your My Music folder which is inside My Documents.

Once you've located your file Double Click it.

This will open the file in your default player. In this case we are talking about Windows Media Player (WMP) which is available free from Microsoft. Go to the previous help topic to see screen shots for iTunes. The principles are the same for both iTunes and WMP.

The song should immediately start playing. It may not be obvious where in WMP your file resides but rest assured it was added to your music library

To find the file simply make sure you select your music library in the left hand column. Search for the title of the file you downloaded.

Once you've found the file in your music library you can add it to a playlist or create a new playlist so you can find the file more easily.
