Setting up: Using your own domain name
Have your domain be your ZIPBOX URL
If you own a web domain name your ZIPBOX Media Web Site can be your domain. For example, if you own a the domain "mygreatnewdomain.com" and purchased it through a domain registrar like Network Solutions or Go Daddy your ZIPBOX Site can be setup to be found at http://www.mygreatnewdomain.com.
You will need to do two things in order for your domain to be your ZIPBOX site.
- Setup your ZIPBOX account to accept your domain name.
- Change your Domain's HOST or A-RECORD to the ZIPBOX server's IP address.
Don't worry. We will show you specifically how to do both of these.
How to change your ZIPBOX Account to accept your domain name.
- Log on to your ZIPBOX Media Account by visiting https://admin.zipboxmedia.com
- Go to My Account : My Store
- Check the checkbox next to "Use My Domain". A new field will appear.
- Enter your domain, without the "www" in the new field labelled "Domain Name"
- Click "Save".
That's it for this step. Now you will need to change your domain registration's HOST or A-RECORD. We have a help file specifically written for those of you who use Network Solutions or Go Daddy. Most registrars are very similar.
