My Media: adding files to sell on your store
ISRC and UPC
Why and what for?
Music that is sold through your ZIPBOX Media store may be reported to national sales reporting authorities if you so choose (Soundscan™ to Billboard Magazine). This requires that every album have a UPC and every song have an ISRC associated with it.
While it would cost you as much as $500 to obtain a single UPC for your self-published music album, ZIPBOX Media can assign these numbers to your products. If you already have your own UPC — through whatever source — enter that UPC number in the field provided.
UPC Allotment
ZIPBOX Media provides each storeowner an allotment of UPC numbers to use. Once that allotment is used you will be required to pay a fee for additional UPC numbers. To add UPC numbers to your allotment go to My Account:Add UPCs. The credit card transaction is a one time charge and will not affect your monthly recurring billing.
Label Abbreviation
Your label abbreviation is the name of your label that is registered through Nielson Soundscan. If you have no label enter "ZBM".
