Setting up: Using your own domain name

If you own a domain name and have access to control its DNS settings, then your ZIPBOX Media Store can reside on your domain. These instructions are intended for use with a GoDaddy domain registration but the principles are applicable to any domain registrar. 

You will be changing your domain's A Record, or Host IP address to the ZIPBOX Media master IP address.

Here's how:

1. Log into your GoDaddy Account.
2. Look for the list of domains you own and can manage.
3. On the line with your domain click Advanced Details.
4. On the next screen you are going to look for the column heading Total DNS.
5. Click Total DNS Control at the bottom of that area.
6. Under the A (Host) section look for the @ (at symbol). On that same line click the edit button. It looks like a little document with a pencil in front of it.
7. In the box labeled "Points To IP address:" enter the IP address you find on My Account: My Store 
8. Check to make sure there is an Alias or CNAME for "www" that points to "@". This will make sure if someone enters "www.yourdomain.com" that they get your site.
9. Click Save.
